When Dale gets a summer job on board the Alaska bound Westward, he is surprised to discover that he will be babysitting a bear cub. “Just keep him out of trouble,” says the captain. Dale spends his days chasing after the cub who climbs anything in sight - including the ship’s mast; gets them both on bad terms with the cook after he raids the kitchen; snoops in the passengers’ cabins; and generally gets into all sorts of mischief. This is the story of an unlikely friendship.
